Oriented towards sustainable development with the philosophy of "Cherishing Mother Nature" by the Labor Hero Thai Huong, the "High-tech dairy farm cluster, CO2 emission reduction, green economy, circular economy" project by TH is a typical successful project reflecting the development mindset of Vietnamese agriculture with the formula "combining Vietnamese intelligence, Vietnamese resources with the high-tech achievements and advanced management science of the world." In this context, the implementation of the green economy and circular economy of the project is harmoniously manifested in all three economic - environmental - and social factors. The TH farm consists of 3 clusters, 9 farms, with nearly 70,000 dairy cows and fields in a closed-loop production chain, from planting raw materials and raising dairy cows to producing fresh milk. Thanks to the optimal nurturing, care, and nutrition regime, TH farm's dairy cows achieve the highest milk yield in Vietnam and Southeast Asia: the average peak season reaches 35 liters/cow/day, equivalent to nearly 11,000 liters/cow/305-day cycle. In 2020, the TH farm cluster was certified by the World Records Union for achieving the record of the "World's largest closed-loop high-tech livestock farming and dairy processing cluster."

In the context where dairy farming in Vietnam is fragmented and underdeveloped, TH has organized large-scale production, applied high-tech machinery and equipment, adopted top global production standards, and quality control throughout the entire concentrated livestock farm cluster, with a focus on comprehensive sustainable development for the entire closed-loop production process from green pastures to TH true MILK fresh milk.

The project "High-tech dairy farm cluster, CO2 emission reduction, green economy, circular economy" also adheres to the 6 pillars in the Sustainable Development Policy built by TH based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include:

Nutrition & Health (SDG 2, 3, and 12):
Enhance the physical and mental well-being of the Vietnamese people by providing nutritious products beneficial to health. Encourage a shift in Vietnamese consumption habits from powdered milk to using pure fresh milk.

Environment (SDG 7, 12, 13, 14, and 15):
Successfully implement a circular economy model, where by-products and waste from this process become inputs for another process, contributing to green and circular economy practices.

People (SDG 2, 5, 8, and 10):
Ensure and promote happiness in all aspects of employees working on the farm cluster as well as the local people in the area.

Education (SDG 4):
Organize courses and seminars for employees, providing them with opportunities for development.

Goals and motivation for implementation of the project

Since the implementation of the project "High-tech dairy farm cluster, CO2 emission reduction, green economy, circular economy," Labor Hero - Thái Hương has consistently led and inspired all employees with the motto: "Respect Mother Nature - the one who gives us everything." She directed the application of the world's most advanced technologies to minimize the environmental impacts and influences of production. TH has applied cutting-edge global technologies in the concentrated dairy farming process: "From green pastures to a glass of pure milk."

Through business activities, TH always strives to:
- Provide natural, health-friendly products of the highest quality and safety.
- Contribute to society with products and services that genuinely enable happy and healthy living.
- Build a sustainable future for future generations, in harmony with Mother Earth and the global human and community environment.
- Establish a healthy and resilient business "ecosystem" guided by circular economic principles.
- Apply advanced technology combined with biotechnology, closely tied to the commitment of "Ensuring everything comes from nature."

Part 3

Activities and scope of implementation

Activities:

Cutting-edge global technologies are applied at the farm, including the Amiad water filtration technology (Israel), herd management technology through the Afifarm software system (Israel), disease management and veterinary processes from New Zealand, software-controlled mixing and importing of feed ingredients (1-ONE, NDS), water and waste treatment processes and equipment from Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, etc. In terms of cattle management technology, dairy cows are equipped with chips and managed by computer software (managing activity, warning and detecting mastitis 4-7 days in advance, classifying cows, reproduction, productivity, and milk quality, etc.). The fully automated milking system – closed-loop – applies technology – ensures the best milk quality control. Disease prevention and biosafety procedures for cows are strictly enforced to minimize diseases. Cows are cooled, and music is played to create a comfortable environment.

Among them, water recovery and wastewater reuse solutions in the farm clusters have helped recover 120,000m3/year. Renewable energy from solar panels on farm roofs has also helped reduce emissions by 5,000 tons of CO2/year.

Implementation scope:
In Vietnam, TH Group is developing dairy farms in the northern border provinces, from the starting point in Nghe An to Thanh Hoa, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Phu Yen, An Giang, and is planning for other provinces and cities. The TH founder aims to produce fresh milk for the domestic market with delicious and nutritious products. TH's farms in the northern region are oriented towards export, targeting the Chinese market with over a billion people. As a Vietnamese national brand, TH has become the first Vietnamese company to be granted a clean milk export code to the Chinese market. In addition to the farm's land area, TH Group plans to collaborate with local residents to establish a feedstock area for dairy cows (corn, grass) to replace less efficient agricultural land.

Part 4

Project innovation/ invention

Pioneering the government's implementation of the Net Zero Commitment, TH Group has developed a strategy for the "High-tech Dairy Farm Cluster: Action to Reduce CO2 Emissions, Practice Green Economy, and Circular Economy," including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, applying advanced technology, and utilizing renewable energy. Pioneering the application of high technology in circular production processes and energy regeneration As a model of a circular economy, TH Farm applies a closed-loop system: all organic matter and organic waste from the livestock farm are collected and processed into bio-cushion material for the farm and organic fertilizer. Livestock wastewater is used to improve cultivated land and restore the natural environment after meeting treatment standards. All TH activities adhere to the principles of using environmentally friendly materials, green energy, and renewable energy, to install 2 - 3 MWp/year for TH's farm clusters. This aligns with the general trend of businesses seeking solutions to use renewable energy to meet production development needs, in response to the National Program on Economical and Efficient Energy Use for the 2019 - 2030 period. Pioneering the path of clean milk through clean, sustainable, and environmentally friendly production activities Since 2008, when implementing the "High-tech Dairy Farm Cluster: Action to Reduce CO2 Emissions, Practice Green Economy, and Circular Economy" project valued at 1.2 billion USD in Nghe An province, TH Group has leveraged global achievements: scientific and technological advancements, management science, and artificial intelligence. This has transformed TH true MILK into a model of a green economy, knowledge economy, and circular economy.

Part 5

Implementation and cost

1. Model of Green Economy, CO2 Emission Reduction throughout the Entire Process
The Group has set a target to reduce direct greenhouse gas emissions in the average farm cluster by 15% per year within the scope of direct greenhouse gas emissions. In two consecutive years, 2019 - 2020, the project achieved an average emission of 0.168 kg CO2 per liter of milk (Level 1 & 2). In 2022, it significantly decreased to 0.103 kg CO2 per unit of product, an exceptionally low level compared to emission reduction results in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
All lighting in TH's farms has been converted from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs, saving 5,000,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to approximately 4,000 tons of CO2 reduction.
2. Pioneering the Application of High Technology in Circular Production Processes, Energy Regeneration
TH implemented the Solar Rooftop project in June 2020. By the end of September 2020, the project completed installation and connected to the national power grid.
Some projects envisaged until 2026 include the use of bioenergy from the livestock waste treatment process to serve farm activities (hot water heating).
3. Pioneering the Path of Clean Milk through Clean, Sustainable, Environmentally Friendly Production Activities
In 2008, when starting the implementation of the "High-tech Dairy Farm Cluster: Action to Reduce CO2 Emissions, Practice Green Economy, and Circular Economy" project valued at 1.2 billion USD in Nghe An province.
