The image of children in remote areas enduring the winter with only thin, short-sleeved shirts left a deep impression on the leadership team and staff members of Canifa. Therefore, through the establishment of the "Canifa for the Community" Fund, the "Winter Warmth" project was initiated by Canifa members in the winter of 2005. This is a journey of warm clothes, sending new clothes to children in remote areas, with the hope of helping them endure the particularly harsh winters in distant and challenging mountain regions. Nearly 20 years have passed, and Canifa has united to deliver hundreds of thousands of warm clothes to nearly 100,000 underprivileged children in mountainous provinces.

Part 1

Starting background of the project

In 2004, most charitable activities were small-scale, lacked collective participation, or were programs conducted by ministries, government agencies, or non-governmental organizations. These efforts primarily focused on supporting disadvantaged families in rural areas. Programs dedicated to children were rare, and those targeting children in remote mountainous areas were even scarcer.

During this time, the Finance-Accounting Department of Canifa visited children in Mai Châu, Hòa Bình. They witnessed young children in temperatures barely above 10°C wearing only thin, short-sleeved clothes—some with shoes, others barefoot. Despite their chapped cheeks from the cold weather, these children persevered daily to attend school. Deeply moved by this sight, the department staff called on their colleagues and gained support from the company's leadership. This led to the establishment of the "Canifa for the Community" Fund and the creation of a charitable initiative aimed at providing warm, new clothes for underprivileged children.

Canifa's "Winter Warmth" project identified its beneficiaries as children—a vulnerable group often without a voice to seek help. Children in remote mountainous areas are particularly special. They grow up in hardship, resiliently enduring external challenges, and accepting a harsh life. However, as education becomes a national priority promoted across all levels, these children also nurture a thirst for learning and knowledge, harboring aspirations to escape poverty and build better futures.

Part 2

Project innovation/ invention

Today, while many charitable organizations collect used clothing from the public, clean them, and donate them to disadvantaged communities, the unique aspect of Canifa's "Winter Warmth" program lies in its dedication to providing entirely new products. Items such as jackets, warm sweaters, wool hats, and scarves gifted to children are all newly produced by Canifa.

Through this project, Canifa aims to ensure that children have new, warm clothing to help them endure the harsh cold and attend school with peace of mind. On a deeper level, the company hopes to bring joy to the children by allowing them to own brand-new outfits of their own.

After nearly 20 years, Canifa continues this tradition of producing new clothes for underprivileged children and remains one of the few businesses capable of delivering truly new garments to children in remote mountainous areas.

Objectives

In the next five years, Canifa will continue embarking on new journeys to deliver warm, brand-new clothing to children in mountainous areas, as well as those in rural and underdeveloped regions.

Canifa aspires not to work alone but to expand this charitable model in collaboration with business partners, suppliers, and the internal Canifa community.

The "Warmth for Children" initiative has been integral to Canifa's history and development. It stands as a source of pride for every employee, bringing joy to team members who can unite in building a better community. Consequently, the project's sustainability is closely aligned with Canifa's broader sustainable development strategy.

Vision

Canifa's long-term vision is to further spread these meaningful values to disadvantaged communities specifically and to foster greater unity within society as a whole. The project also seeks to celebrate and strengthen the spirit of national solidarity.

Implementation - Scope - Cost of the project

Canifa's "Warmth for Winter" initiative places no limits on the quantity or material value of items sent to bring warmth to children in need. The company is always ready to produce new winter clothing, uniforms, and warming accessories whenever requests or calls for assistance are received.

Additionally, hundreds of volunteers quietly contribute their efforts by handling logistics, packing gifts, and ensuring each gift reaches the children and their families in the most thoughtful and caring way possible.

Canifa firmly believes that these contributions go beyond providing material support—they empower children to overcome challenges with resilience.

With a spirit of sharing and social responsibility, Canifa is committed to continuing its efforts to build a better life, bringing joy and hope to people across the country.

Achievements

Over nearly 20 years of its journey, it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of products such as coats, sweaters, uniforms, hats, gloves, and socks have been gifted to children. Additionally, Canifa has donated tens of billions of VND to support those in difficult circumstances.
