Mr. Trinh Van Thang - General Director of ADF Construction Company, deeply understands and empathizes with the difficult situations faced by disadvantaged children. Therefore, since 2014, ADF Construction Company has established a charitable fund with the desire to build community activities, which later became the charity group named Building Dreams - Accompanying Children to School. The project has become a source of both material and spiritual support, encouraging disadvantaged children to have more motivation to rise in life.

Part 1

Starting background of the project

Every child has their own story and unique destiny. While some children grow up in adequate conditions, others must endure lives of deprivation. Orphans, children living in poverty, and those from highland areas—these difficult circumstances deprive many children of the opportunity to attend school.

Mr. Trinh Van Thang, General Director of ADF Construction Company, has always held the heartfelt wish to become a companion to these children, especially those in the highlands, and help them continue their dream of going to school. He understands that the most effective way to change their future is through education, as only education can sustainably transform both economic and social conditions. With this in mind, he founded the volunteer group "Building Dreams - Accompanying Children to School," working alongside his colleagues to support disadvantaged children and give them the strength to rise above their circumstances.

Part 2

Project innovation/ invention

The "Building Dreams for Children" initiative was launched by Mr. Trinh Van Thang through a series of comprehensive projects designed to support disadvantaged students. These initiatives aim to reduce the economic burden on families while improving living and learning conditions. Key components include:

- Dream Scholarship: Monthly tuition support ranging from VND 600,000 to VND 1,000,000 for students in particularly challenging circumstances, continuing until they turn 18.

- Dream Breeding Cow: Families of outstanding students facing economic hardships receive a breeding cow, which will give birth to a calf annually, contributing to the family's income.

- Dream House: For families in especially difficult situations, where homes are old and dilapidated, the group provides support for either the construction of a new house or renovations, improving living conditions for the children.

- The project also includes support for renovating schools to enhance the quality of education for the children.

As this project stems from a construction company, it enjoys advantages in areas such as design, construction, and supervision, enabling cost optimization during implementation.

Additionally, to spread the project's impact and inspire greater participation, the initiative is promoted through social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and the project's website. This approach facilitates access to resources from benefactors and encourages volunteers to participate in the construction and repair of charitable houses and schools in mountainous areas.

Implementation - Scope - Cost of the project

Implementation - Scope

Implemented since 2014, originating from the charity fund of ADF Construction Company, the Building Dreams for Children Project was born from the desire to support community initiatives. Initially, with limited resources, the project focused on a small scale in Bac Giang province for close monitoring and effective support. However, with growing experience, the project has expanded to multiple provinces and cities such as Yen Bai, Son La, Hoa Binh, and Bac Kan.

The project's activities include direct tuition support in the form of scholarships, livelihood support for families through the provision of livestock (such as breeding cows), and repairing houses and schools.

All project activities are coordinated with local authorities to ensure transparency, timeliness, and safety. For construction projects, the process follows a sequential approach: survey and assessment, design drawings, construction estimates, approval of design drawings, application for investment policy approval, seeking business sponsorship, and finally, construction implementation. For renovation projects, volunteers are called upon to participate in painting and repair work.

Cost

All project costs are disclosed transparently, with detailed and professional estimates for school construction activities.

Mobilized Resources:

Currently, ADF Construction Company makes a significant contribution to the project, providing 30% of the financial resources and expertise for design, supervision, construction, and painting of schools and houses.

Contributions from sponsors make up 70% of the project's financial resources.

Additionally, local government support is crucial in proposing, surveying, and implementing the project. The participation of nearly 200 young volunteers in activities such as painting and repairing schools and charity houses, regardless of weather conditions, has significantly contributed to creating well-constructed houses and schools.

Part 5

Achievements

Through the Building Dreams for Children project, the path to literacy for children in the highlands has become less challenging. Thanks to the construction of spacious, clean schools, students no longer have to study in rundown, leaky, and dilapidated classrooms. Moreover, the project provides tuition fee support, allowing children to confidently pursue their education and explore new horizons. In the past, many students were forced to drop out due to difficult family circumstances, but now their dream of attending school has become a reality.

In addition, the project brings further value to the community by constructing housing and providing economic support through breeding cows, offering hope for an improved quality of life.

Part 6

Model expansion potential

The project model has received overwhelming support from the community, especially benefactors. With 70% of the funding coming from individuals and businesses, along with the continuous participation of donors, the project is growing steadily in scale. The Building Dreams for Children volunteer group, with nearly 200 young volunteers and more expected in the future, is always ready to accompany the project and directly participate in activities such as house and school painting.
